What's a "Digital Upgrade Kit"?
If you've landed here you're probably looking for a way to upgrade your Phrozen Sonic Mini 4k 3d resin printer. Well you've come to the right place! I've spent a year upgrading this thing to print the way it was supposed to in the first place. It was really more about salvaging my investment and learning a few things in return.
Why not supply all the parts?
Instead of supplying the logistics and all the parts in a traditional "kit" form (more energy than I wanted to expend) I instead supply the STL's for the base extender, the STL of the arm and the Bill of Materials with detailed instructions. The rough cost of the kit is approximately ~$100-$160 depending on the exchange rate with the UK. A large part of the upgrade price is the rail that comes from Simon Jackson. I have it the BOM set to it's highest price I have seen. It should be cheaper now Post-Brexit and the dollar is performing better.
Here is the list from the BOM and the approximate costs.

What's included in the "kit"
- STL for the new arm (this makes the machine 182mm tall)
- STL for the case extender
- STL for the drill guide so the holes for the new rail are in the right spot
- STL for the new endstop
- *Optional STL for the Nema17 extender - if you don't want to cut the threaded rod - if the one you purchased was too short.
- SVG for the screen gasket to even out the screen
- SVG of a vat drip arm
- Test print STL to measure before and after
- GCode to get the machine printing more quickly - see the YouTube demo here. Currently only version 3 of the firmware is supported. You can get this machine to print at 480mm/min!!
- The Bill of Materials
- Detailed Instructions for all the steps.
- Fan upgrade with voltage reducer or diode. (Must purchase Noctua fan)
- Satisfaction you made this machine print better than Phrozen could
